The 2023 vintage wasn’t much more generous than the previous one in terms of quantity for Gamaret. However, the heat wave experienced in September allowed for superb ripeness, which translates into the wine with a lovely fullness and richness on the palate. The tannins are present but already well integrated, and there’s a delightful indulgence.

The aromatic profile is typical for Gamaret, although with even more pronounced spicy and peppery notes than in recent vintages. The fruit is well-ripened, adding complexity and depth to the wine. As has often been said, this wine is definitely THE cuvée to convince skeptics that beautiful red wines can indeed be made in Quebec.
